Lib Dems add another Councillor on EHDC

East Hampshire District Council Cllr Neville TaylorOn Monday 29th June, the Liberal Democrats of East Hampshire District Council welcome an additional member to their ranks, strengthening their position as the main opposition within the Council from seven to eight members.

Councillor Neville Taylor, who represents Lindford ward after long and careful consideration has decided to join the Liberal Democrats Group on the Council.

Cllr Taylor said: "I have been carefully considering my group position for some months now. I have found working with the Lib Dems to be far more effective than acting alone. Nationally and here in Lindford I am aligned with Lib Dem policies and the Lib Dem Group have provided effective and constructive Opposition to the Conservative administration at EHDC."

"I look forward to playing a role as part of a larger team and giving the residents of Lindford Ward a stronger voice in holding EHDC to account."

Cllr Steve Hunt, Leader of the Lib Dem Group on EHDC said "Cllr Taylor has found himself more and more in agreement with the Lib Dem Group on EHDC. We warmly welcome Neville who is a hard-working local Councillor and our stronger team will continue to shine a light for an open government and transparent local government. We are an alternative administration in waiting. We look forward to working closer together for the benefit of our local communities. "
