The divisions with elections are:

• Bedhampton (North West Havant)
• Hayling Island

The electorate for each Division will be members residing within that division (as of October 13th 2024). For Divisions where the number of members are fewer than 10, the 2024 Havant party executive will also join the electorate. 

To ensure a fair, equal and open election, the decision has been taken not to allow candidates (or their supporters) to contact members to canvas for votes. Members are welcome to contact the candidates of their own volition. No telephone, email, postal or doorstep campaigning will be taking place. 

A notice will be sent to all members of the electorate ahead of the election & opening of voting. Members of the electorate wishing to vote by post should contact the Returning Officer to ask for a paper ballot.

The election for the candidate in three target divisions is now open! 

The elections of candidates for our first three Hampshire County Council divisions officially opened today (TUESDAY December 10th) at 9am!!. Closing 7pm December 24^th (a typo on the email might still say 23^rd). 

My apologies for the delays and errors beyond our control which have impacted the start of this election in Havant. As a reuslt I have extended the voting until 7pm December 24^th to ensure every member entitled to vote has a chance to do so.

Last Friday an email with the incorrect details was sent to all Havant party members. This morning another email with the wrong voting codes was sent to members in the divisions in this election. These errors were beyond the control of both the local party and myself, but I am deeply sorry for the confusing emails sent. Both of these are void and no votes from these emails have been recorded toward this election.

I can assure you that the email sent from HQ around 4pm today has the correct details and contains relevant voting codes that work and will count for this election. If you have not yet received yours, live in one of the three Divisions, and was a paid up member October 13^th 2024, please get in touch.

Note: If the voting screen reports an error when you first land on that page, please click the ‘RETRY’ button and the page will load correctly and allow you to vote.

For divisions where the membership is ten members or fewer, the electorate will also include the existing Executive of Havant Liberal Democrats. 

Members wishing to receive their ballot by post should request one from me by email at admin@southcentrallibdems.org.uk, or ask the local party for my telephone number.  A requested paper ballot will also include instructions to vote online, however if you wish to vote by post, it must arrive by the close of the ballot.
